My background

During my first eight years of training I specialised in classical singing, mainly opera and chamber music. Over time I have explored many other genres, such as rock, pop, jazz and experimental music. This path allows me to bring together the best of classical technique and contemporary music in my lessons.

I graduated as a classical guitarist from the Conservatorio Provincial Félix T. Garzón and completed all the coursework for the degree in Music Composition at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. I have taken part in opera productions and performed as a singer and guitarist with various groups in Córdoba, Argentina. I have also sung in choirs for more than ten years, performing as a chorister in theatres across Argentina.

As a composer, I have written music for film, theatre, dance theatre and contemporary dance, and my work has received awards and distinctions at various festivals. I have been teaching for more than 15 years, at different institutions and in my own studio. My lessons are technically thorough but also fun, and they are tailored to each student's interests.

The lessons

I teach contemporary singing to students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to experienced singers, both in person and online.

In-person lessons take place at my studio in Gràcia, a few minutes from Joanic metro station: a soundproofed room fitted with top-of-the-range recording equipment, just like a professional studio. So you can sing with complete freedom and, when the time comes, record your voice in the best possible quality.

Each lesson has three parts:

  1. Body and warm-up

We start with a few minutes to relax the body and warm up the muscles involved in singing. Especially in the first lessons, we will also talk about how the body works and about the anatomy of the voice, so that you can improve your singing consciously.

  2. Vocal technique

Next we work on technical development and on warming up the voice. I will guide you through different exercises to extend your range, explore resonance and gain control over your register transitions, always aiming for more efficient, healthy singing.

  3. Repertoire

Finally, we work on songs mainly chosen by you. We find the right key together and I accompany you.

As we progress with your repertoire, I will invite you to take part in small concerts with other students and to record videos in the studio so you can share your work. At least once a year I organise a concert with all my students and an invited audience.

As I am also a guitarist, composer and arranger, if you are interested I can teach you the chords to your songs so you can accompany yourself, help you sing and play at the same time, arrange other artists' songs or write your own.
